After finishing school at the Schottengymnasium, I began a medical degree at the University of Vienna, gaining my doctorate in 1986.

I worked on hearing research projects in Frankfurt and San Francisco before training as an ENT specialist at the 2nd ENT University Clinic in Vienna.

I was then appointed as a Senior Physician to the ENT department at the hospital "Barmherzige Brüder" in Vienna. At the same time I began working in the private office of my father.

In 1998 I stopped working at the hospital in order to devote more time to my office (which I have run alone since then) and also to be able to spend more time with my family - I am married with two daughters.
